This is a book about childhood, boyhood and youth days of the hero who was living and growing up in Belgrade . Childhood – the occupied city and poverty in a fatherless family. Boyhood – troubles with people he is surrounded by, longings for his father. Youth days - first love and their first years of marriage when they both felt the need to compensate the lack of love in their original families. The book consists of short stories. One can sense how difficult it is for any hypersensitive person in this rough world .

“.......I went down to Neimar to calm down. Fir-tree tops were bent to the West. Further below I could see the streets and the whole neighbourhood in the grip of darkness now wrapping up the gardens and rickety fences. On the terrace above the park some memories: I'm standing in the torrential rain shivering from cold, from toothache waiting for the girl who said she wouldn't come, until all unease fades out, until I feel the warmth of my own existence, until I come into the state of such purity that I can feel free. On the terrace above the park I am overwhelmed with memories but a bus is coming, angry passengers are dropping out...”
